What it's about:
Kickstart your child’s engineering journey with something fun – race cars! Students will get to design, build, customize, tune and race various types of race cars. Through the course, your child will be exposed to the physics of speed, basic engineering concepts, and learn to apply such concepts to their race car. At the end of the 4 weeks students will have a chance to bring their cars together and test their speed by racing each other .
Each course runs for 2 hours per week, for 4 weeks.
Times & Dates:
Time: 2:00pm – 4.00pm
Saturday 2, 9, 16 & 23 March 2019
Basic – your child will build a 2-wheel drive car and learn what makes a car move.
Intermediate – your child will build a 4-wheel drive car and experiment with tuning to make it move faster.
Advanced – your child will build an aerodynamic car and will get learn about some electrical engineering concepts.
Students can progress from one level to another, or commence at intermediate or advanced if they have prior knowledge.
Key learning outcomes:
● Gain an introduction to basic engineering concepts.
● Gain an introduction to the physics of racing.
● Develop observational and problem solving skills.
● Strengthen fine motor skills.
